Barrie City Council invites applications from representatives from the not-for-profit agencies servicing the needs of the seniors’ community in Barrie and who desire to have their name considered for appointment to Seniors Advisory Committee.
The mandate of this Committee is to represent and provide advice on Barrie seniors’ perspectives on municipal matters related to:
- Seniors housing and related planning matters;
- Transportation; and
- Communications and Civic Participation by seniors
The committee consists of: one (1) Member of Council, one (1) representative from the Canadian Association of Retired Person (CARP), to be selected by CARP; one (1) representative from the 55+ Advisory Council, to be selected by the 55+ Advisory Council; four (4) representatives from the not-for-profit agencies servicing the needs of the seniors’ community and four (4) citizen members, representing the seniors’ community at large in Barrie.
The City of Barrie is seeking to replace one (1) not-for-profit agency member for a term to expire November 30, 2018.
Applications containing details regarding qualifications and applicable experience for the above appointments must be submitted using the application form and may be directed to the undersigned at the Legislative and Court Services Office at City Hall, 70 Collier Street, P.O. Box 400, L4M 4T5. Please return your completed application to the address noted below, in person, by mail, by fax 739-4243 or scan and email to email@example.com no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017.
