PRESS RELEASENew Arbor Installed by Students in Heritage Park
Tuesday, June 12, 2012

The City of Barrie recently partnered with Innisdale Secondary School to construct a new arbor for Heritage Park on Barrie’s waterfront.  The arbor had deteriorated and became unsafe for all park users in the last few months, and Mr. Vince Mannen’s woodworking class were quick to respond to design and build a new permanent installation for the City park.

“This project gave our students the chance to work on an exciting project that they can now see and enjoy all the time on the waterfront,” commented Mannen. “Constructing the arbor also gave these students a broader picture of what they can do with this type of education outside of the school environment.”

The arbor was installed at Heritage Park this morning by the Grade 10 construction class at Innisdale Secondary School.
