Developing a Strategic Plan for your Arts Organization
September 11, 2012, 6:00 – 9:00pm
City Hall, Sir Robert Barrie Room, 2nd Floor
Strategic plans serve as blueprints as to why an organization exists, what work they do and what resources are required to do the work. They clearly identify who does the work and outline a method for measuring results.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
• A simple template for developing a strategic plan for non-profits
• The value of establishing clear mission and vision statements along with corresponding organizational values.
• How to set goals and actions that have completion dates and success measures built-in
• The correlation between planning, the importance of clarity of roles, responsibilities and accountability – three of the biggest challenges that boards face
Clearly articulated plans also mean stakeholders (board, staff, funders, volunteers, clients, community etc.) are aligned around where your organization is going and how you are going to get there.
