JEBCO’s contract with Canadian Natural Resources Limited – one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world – for the construction of 21 tanks for a project in Western Canada will see the Barrie facility process nearly 1.32 million pounds of steel and input more than 30,000 production hours to fulfill the contract.
“JEBCO is a global leader in the manufacturing of metal fabricated process equipment for mining industries,” comments Mayor Jeff Lehman. “We are proud that they have continued to expand their manufacturing business in Barrie and that their success is seeing increased employment opportunities for residents and supply opportunities for local businesses.”
Since securing the contract, JEBCO has added 7 new staff to their growing compliment of nearly 100 people running 2 shifts from their 100,000 square foot facility on Ellis Drive.
“We are very proud to be part of the Barrie business community, and our continued growth this year puts us in a position to be able to add another 20-25 staff to our team in a variety of areas including skilled trades such as welders, fitters, machinists and millwrights in addition to engineering, purchasing and material handling support,” says company President, Brett Murray.
