Duckworth St Transportation Improvements

The City is undertaking a Schedule “C” Municipal Class EA to implement bike lanes on Duckworth Street, from Bell Farm Road to St Vincent Street.

Status: Study was initiated in 2014, the Notice of Completion was published with no request for Part II orders and the Final Draft of the Phase 3&4 Report is being finalized.

Consultant: C.C. Tatham & Associates Ltd

Study Level: Municipal Class EA Schedule C

Purpose: To consider design alternatives for implementing bike lane and improve active transportation on Duckworth Street from Bell Farm Road to St Vincent Street.

Scope: City of Barrie will look at a number of design alternatives associated with implementing bike lanes and sidewalks on Duckworth Street. The impact of active transportation improvements on physical, natural, social, cultural and economic environments will also be looked at during the study.

Key Considerations: Property, driveway and tree impacts.

Public Information Centre: A Public Information Centre (PIC) was held on Thursday April 16, 2015 (4–7pm at City Hall). The public was invited to attend the PIC to review and provide comments on the proposed design alternative solutions.
