Victoria Village Activity Centre offers exciting recreation, education, and fitness opportunities to adults in the City of Barrie.  Located within a multi-faceted facility and operated by the City of Barrie Leisure, Transit and Facilities Department, the Activity Centre contains over 14,000 square feet of space designed and designated for activities and leisure programmes for community use. The Centre is on the second floor of the building with the main entrance and parking for the Community Centre located off Toronto Street.

This facility boasts a Fitness Centre complete with weight training equipment, a computer lab, a woodworking shop, a library resource area, meeting rooms, activity rooms and a large multi-purpose room; ideal for weddings and large events!

Our goal is to provide quality recreation and leisure services to support our active and healthy community; consult our Recreation and Leisure Community Guide for a detailed listing of all courses and registered programmes.

Computer Lab

Do you need to update your resume? Do you need to find something on line? Or are you simply interested in spending some time on a computer? Drop by our computer lab; we have lab passes and times available for all schedules and budgets.  Passes are available for purchase at our front desk.  See our complete line up of computer courses in the Recreation and Leisure Community Guide too!

Fitness Centre

Looking for for a friendly, unintimidating place to workout? Why not join us?  Registered and drop in classes are available along with personal training.   Please refer to the latest version of the Recreation and Leisure Community Guide for schedules and times.

Woodworking Shop

The shop is open weekdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm and available to members.  Membership is offered to those over the age of 19.  A shop monitor is available during open hours to answer questions or help with equipment.  A finishing room and tool crib are also available.  To be eligible to use the shop, potential members must complete a shop orientation, including machine safety training, and have some woodworking experience.  Courses and seminars are offered throughout the year; see the latest Recreation and Leisure Community Guide for detailed descriptions.

Hours of Operation

Victoria Village Activity Centre is open 8:30 am - 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 - 4:30 on Friday, with weekend courses offered throughout the year.
