You are here: Community > Transit Information > How to use Barrie Transit HOW TO USE BARRIE TRANSIT WHERE DOES THE BUS GO? Buses display a route name in the front window above the windshield. This indicates the general destination of each bus. Refer to the map to see where each route travels. BARRIE TRANSIT'S 'VALUE TRANSFER' Barrie Transit's 'Value Transfer' takes you wherever you want to go by transit for 60 minutes. Once you get a transfer from your transit operator, it will allow you 60 minutes free travel from the time you board the bus, in any direction, on any route. You can even make short trips on only one fare as long as you are back on the return bus before the time on your transfer expires. Transfers must be requested when you pay your fare and can only be used by the person to whom it was issued. If you're unsure of the expiry time, ask your transit operator! NIGHT STOP The Night Stop program allows passengers who feel it would be more convenient or safer to disembark from the bus closer to their destination than the nearest transit stop. The service is in effect from dusk or 9:00 pm until the end of evening service. Passengers can request the driver to stop at any safe location along the route. Let the transit operator know at least one stop before the location where you wish to disembark and leave from the front door. NEED ANOTHER ROUTE MAP/TIMETABLE? You can get additional copies from any transit operator, from City Hall or by calling Barrie Transit: 739-4209. ROUTE AND SCHEDULE INFORMATION Complete route and schedule information is available weekdays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm by calling 739-4209 or in the Schedules & Routes Maps section of this Website.
