BARRIE TRANSIT SERVICE ADJUSTMENTS

EFFECTIVE - MONDAY, MAY 10TH, 2010

ROUTE 10 LIVINGSTONE will no longer provide service on Dunlop Street East.  Route 10 Livingstone will operate inbound service on Collier Street, Bayfield Street, Ross Street Maple Avenue to the Terminal.

ROUTE 20 RVH will no longer provide service on Dunlop Street East.  Route 20 RVH will operate outbound service from the Terminal on Maple Avenue, Ross Street, Bayfield Street, Collier Street to Blake Street.

Schedule times for both Routes are NOT affected.

SERVICE NOTICE - GO TRAIN

Barrie Transit and GO Bus provide service to the Barrie South GO Station located on Yonge Street, just north of Mapleview Drive East.  The station includes the provision of 5 bus platforms, parking for 628 vehicles and a kiss and ride drop off lane.

To facilitate travel via Barrie Transit to the station please note the following:

  NOTE:                    
  GO TRAIN SHUTTLE routes depart the Holly C.C. Monday to Friday, every 35 minutes, to the South Barrie GO Station.  
  BARRIE TRANSIT GO TRAIN SHUTTLE Service departing the BARRIE SOUTH GO STATION in the evening will wait for the GO TRAIN to arrive.  
  ROUTE 39 HURST will commence service from the downtown Barrie Transit Terminal at 5:10 am, arriving at the train station at 5:38 am, and every 30 minutes with the last bus leaving the terminal at 6:40 am arriving at the train station at 7:10 am.  After the 7:10 am arrival, the bus will then return to the normal scheduled operating times throughout the day.   
   
   

 

  • HURST transit route commences operation from the Barrie Downtown Terminal at 5:10 am, arriving at the train station at 5:40 am, and every 30 minutes with the last bus leaving the terminal at 6:40am arriving at the train station at 7:10 am.  After the 7:10 am arrival, the bus  waits and returns to the normal scheduled operating times throughout the day.
  • Route #60 GO SHUTTLE starts from the Holly Community Centre at 5:10 am arriving at the train station at 5:35 am, service every 35 minutes with the last bus leaving the centre to the Barrie South Station at 6:55 am.
  • In the afternoon, the GO SHUTTLES start service at the train station with the buses leaving the station once passengers have departed the train and boarded on to Barrie Transit.  The bus departure time will be flexible to coincide with the train arrival times.

The services operates Monday to Friday with the GO Train service

The majority of the Barrie Transit routes commence operation at 5:45 am and 6:00 am throughout the City which provides service to the Barrie Downtown Terminal.  Passengers will be able to transfer to the Hurst Route, GO Shuttles, or board GO buses that will provide service to the Barrie South GO Station.

 

Passengers on Barrie Transit buses can transfer to any other local bus route to continue their trip at no charge upon showing their GO Transit fare.

 

In addition, GO Bus service will operate in Barrie including the following services that link with train service:

 

  • Morning - Barrie Downtown Terminal at 5:15 am, 5:40 am, 6:10 am, and 6:35 am with a stop at the South Barrie Train Station.  The approximate trip time will be 15 minutes.  The GO Bus will travel along Bradford Street, Essa Road, Burton Avenue and Yonge Street to the train station.  The GO bus will continue south to Newmarket.
  • Afternoon – The GO Bus from Newmarket will stop at the South Barrie Train Station at 5:56 pm, 6:26 pm, 7:03 pm, and 7:46 pm going to Barrie Downtown Terminal.  The approximate trip time will be 15 minutes.  The GO Bus will travel along Yonge Street,  Burton Avenue, Essa Road, and Bradford Street to the Barrie Downtown Terminal.
  • Morning- Barrie Downtown Terminal at 5:45 am and 6:15 am, with the GO bus stopping at the car park at Essa Road and Highway 400, service along Ardgah Road, Ferndale Drive, Essa Road to Innisfil Beach Road with the route meeting the train at King City.
  • Afternoon – GO Bus meets the train at 5:28 pm and 6:33 pm at the King City train station, returns along Highway 400 to Innisfil Beach Road, Essa Road, Ferndale Drive, Ardagh Road to the Barrie Downtown Terminal arriving at 6:05 pm and 7:10 pm.
