Council Committees
GENERAL COMMITTEE
Barrie City Council has one standing committee, General Committee. General Committee is composed of all members of Council. The Mayor presides as Chair. General Committee meetings occur every Monday and start at approximately 8:00 p.m.
General Committee duties include studying and reporting to Council on all matters brought to it by the Community Services Committee, Corporate Services and Development Services Committee, which are the three Reference Committees created by City Council. General Committee acts in the place of Council to conduct public meetings concerning Planning applications.
REFERENCE COMMITTEES
City Council has created four Reference Committees, which report to Council when required within the terms of their mandate. Please click on the committee title for the agendas, minutes and mandate for each committee.

ADVISORY COMMITTEES
Barrie City Council has established numerous advisory committees to ensure opportunities for public input into community decision-making. The majority of Advisory Committees meet on a monthly basis.
