Biography
John Brassard is 42 years old and has been married since 1989 to Liane. They have four children ranging in age from 3 to 13 and love living in Barrie.
John has been a Professional Firefighter for 20 years with the Town of Markham and along with his Father, is co-owner of a successful marketing agency dealing in the sporting goods and corporate apparel markets. John served as President of the Markham Professional Firefighters Association just prior to his election to Council and understands the people and business side of being on Barrie City Council.
John entered municipal politics because of his families love for the City of Barrie and to truly give something back to this community. Both John and Liane want their four children to grow, play, and stay here in their adult lives and by focusing on the needs of his family, John knows that the decisions he makes on Council will affect many families in a positive way.
John has been extremely attentive to the needs of Ward 7 residents and promptly returns phone calls and e-mails. He also created the Ward 7 Ratepayers Association shortly after his election to Council to give a voice to Ward 7 residents around the Council table.
John is determined to ensure that Safety and Security for Barrie residents are a primary focus of this Council as well as Transparency and Accountability at City Hall.
