CULTURAL INFORMATION

In April, 2007 City Council implemented an important component of the City's cultural plan by creating a new department specifically dedicated to cultural development. Key responsibilities for the department will include the development of cultural policies, strategies and the overseeing of funding to support and to promote cultural organizations, cultural industries, cultural activities and cultural consumers. The Department of Culture will exist to provide advice, counsel and planning on cultural development to all City Departments, to City Council and to the cultural sector of Barrie.
