Street Performers Program

The Street Performers Program was developed in 2009 as part of the downtown revitalization efforts, with the purpose of creating a more positive atmosphere in the downtown area.  Each year auditions take place through a jury process and those selected are permitted to share their abilities throughout the downtown streets and engage the public.

The City of Barrie’s Department of Culture in partnership with Downtown Barrie (BIA) held Street Performer auditions on Thursday March 24th, 2016 in the City Hall Rotunda. Although the night was the worst ice storm that Barrie has ever experienced we were thrilled with an amazing turnout of talented performers. The following individuals were selected to animate the downtown streets.
