Barrie and its service partners can ensure that your business growth is backed by a complete range of utilities to power your success. Water, sewer, electricity and natural gas are available with sufficient capacity to meet Barrie’s growing needs.

The City of Barrie, PowerStream and Enbridge Gas work together to ensure Barrie businesses are powered up. Dual electrical service is available in Mapleview West Business Park.

Water and Sewer Rates

To accommodate future growth, the City of Barrie is undertaking two major projects to provide additional capacity for water and wastewater treatment.

In progress:

  • $150M surface water treatment plant and low lift pumping station to be completed in 2011
  • $100M water pollution control plant expansion and biosolids storage facility to be completed in 2011

In addition to groundwater extraction, the City’s new surface water treatment plant will draw water directly from Kempenfelt Bay.
