City E-News

Want to stay connected with your City and be better informed? Sign up for our e-newsletter! As with the printed This Week in Barrie, Access Barrie's e-newsletters maintain a single corporate presence communicating news from across the corporation.

Access Barrie commits to sending monthly digests (on the first business day of each month) that highlight current City issues important to Barrie residents. Further, special timely bulletins will reach targeted inboxes periodically. To help ensure topics are most relevant to each recipient, residents are encouraged complete their profiles upon sign-up and keep them up-to-date as their lifestyles change.

Background

Prior to 2013, the City's Communications Department periodically distributed an e-newsletter, Stay Connected. In October 2014, Access Barrie finalized an improved e-news strategy that:

  • best incorporates Access Barrie initiatives to enhance communications and expand community engagement
  • leverages current departmental processes to ensure reliable and consistent distribution of information, while maximizing efficiencies
  • ensures strict compliance with the new (July 2014) Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

About Access Barrie

In May 2013 the City introduced three strategic portfolios and reorganized the organization’s working structure to be positioned to best serve our community. One of these portfolios, Access Barrie, combines the strengths of Communications, Marketing and Customer Service to improve customer experiences, enhance communications and expand community engagement.
