Environmental Assessment Studies
The City is undertaking the following Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Studies:
Water Pollution Control Centre (WPCC) Biogas Utilization Upgrades
The City of Barrie has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to explore options for storing surplus biogas currently being produced at the Barrie Water Pollution Control Centre (WPCC) for use in generating additional electricity. Alternative solutions are now being developed. This information bulletin provides a summary of the key project activities and
recommendations to date.

The City of Barrie wishes to obtain input from the community on the Preliminary Preferred Solution and is hosting a Public Information Centre on: Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Barrie City Hall Rotunda, 70 Collier Street.
