Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (LSRA) is one of the newest and most sophisticated regional airports in Canada. Located less than 20 minutes from Barrie, it boasts a 6001’ long lighted runway capable of handling a broad range of aircraft including helicopters and commercial jet aircraft.

Barrie City Council invites applications from citizens who desire to have their names considered for appointment to the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Corporation Board of Directors.
The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Corporation’s vision is to build a stronger, more robust, wider-based services and a world-class facility; to develop the LSRA as a Centre for Excellence for maintenance, repair, assembly, manufacturing, and related services for the aerospace industry; and to properly position the LSRA to assume the role as a major reliever airport alternative to the GTA as the region grows and develops. The airport is owned by the City of Barrie and the Township of Oro-Medonte. The City of Barrie is seeking to appoint one (1) citizen for a term to expire January 31, 2015.
The City of Barrie is seeking an individual who has experience on a board, committee or commission as well as knowledge of the aviation industry and/or economic development expertise. Applications containing details regarding qualifications and applicable experience for the above appointment may be directed to the undersigned at the City Clerk's Office at City Hall 70 Collier Street, P.O.
