Bus Schedules, Maps & Fares
The New Barrie Transit will be introduced in August 2013; there will be significant transit service improvements that include more direct routes, real-time updates, and a multiple hub system. In addition to the transit service improvements, there are annual operating cost increases, such as fuel prices, fleet maintenance, and servicing expenses. The transit fare increase funds a small portion of the service improvements and the added operating costs.
Barrie Transit Fares
We use the "exact fare" system. Fares can be paid by cash or a pass. Our transit operators do not carry change. Fares are subject to change.

Visually Impaired
A visually impaired person can ride Barrie Transit FREE when they present a CNIB identification card.
Barrie Transit Sales Location
All passes and ride cards can be purchased at the Barrie Transit Terminal, City Hall, Allandale Recreation Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre, Holly Community Centre and Georgian College Book Store.
Barrie Transit Photo ID Card
If a full-time student is not able to obtain a valid Student Photo Identification Card issued by the educational institution they attend, a Barrie Transit Identification Card can be purchased that will enable students to be eligible for discount transit fares. Please bring the completed application form to the Ticket Sales Counter at the Barrie Transit Terminal. Photo ID Cards are $5. Application forms must be completed by the student and the school administration office.

Family Ride
Up to three elementary school children grade one to eight can ride Barrie Transit FREE when accompanied by a paying adult or senior. Student discount fare does not apply.
Georgian College Semester Pass
Semester passes are valid for four months. A valid Georgian College Photo Identification Card must be accompanied by the user for the pass to be valid. The semester will start in January, May or September.
