Daycamp Programs

Fun for EVERYONE.  Daycamps offer a fun and safe environment for kids from ages 3 - 16 to experience sports, music, arts and the fun of being just plain silly.  We have something for everyone from Basketball Camp to Kinder Fun and everything in between.  Building memories and making friends will be the highlight of the summer.

Quality Supervision

Our staff/participant ratios reflect our committment to quality program supervision. Preschool programs operate with a ratio of 1 leader for every 6 children and all other camps operate with a ratio of 1 leader for every 10 campers. These ratios are supplemented with support from our Leadership Development program, mediators and volunteers from the community.  All staff are certified in First Aid and require a criminal reference check.  In addition they are trained to interact with children in a positive and developmentally appropriate manner.  All camps follow the Parks and Recreation Ontario "High 5" guidelines for the the Priniciples of Healthy Child Development.

Fair Play in Camps ... Fun for Everyone

The goal of the City of Barrie Day Camps is to ensure all campers have a rewarding, memorable, safe and fun experience while participating in our program. Providing a safe environment is a collaborative process. We ask that parents/guardians share the following camp rules/guidelines with their child/ren:

  • Respect others and their property
  • Hands off
  • No bullying behavior
  • Listen to the Leaders
  • Stay with the group
  • Use appropriate language
  • HAVE FUN!

If the above guidelines cannot be met, our Fair Play Follow Up process will be implemented. Parent conferences may be required to address concerns at any step in this system. ** The first instance of physical aggression towards another person or oneself may require a temporary or full suspension from camp(s).**

Camper Pick Up & Drop Off & Safe Arrival

Campers 10 yrs and under MUST have adult supervision at all times during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Please ensure that regular escorts and emergency contacts are recorded with your registration. Only those adults listed will be permitted to pick up your child(ren). Please notify us if your child will NOT be attending camp that day, or of any change in your child’s pick-up routine by calling 705-792-7908 - this is our Safe Arrival Hotline.
