Minions - The Movie and Family Fun!

Join us at the Mady Centre for a day of Family Fun! The Minions is back on the big screen at 2pm.

After the movie, we will have Rapunzel and Cinderella to meet everyone.

Don't miss Kevin, Bob and Stuart - in person! The Minions themselves are here as well! Talk is Free Theatre will be in the lower lobby.

James Harrison - Canada's Pick Pocket magician will amaze with his sleight of hand and pick pocket magic.

Face painters will be on site as well!

And of course, Cravings Fine Food will have delicious food and drink available to purchase at the Concessions. 

As always, costumes are encouraged!

Goethe’s masterpiece is given new life as an original musical adaptation. Directed by Jeannette Lambermont-Morey and composed by Leslie Arden, Faust tells the story of a man who wagers his soul with the devil. Faust is a beautiful, harrowing journey certain to astonish and amaze. It is not to be missed.

July 9th’s performance will feature an exclusive pre-show lecture by Professor David G. John, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, University of Waterloo entitled, “Seduction, Love, and the Devil’s hand.” Dr. John is an expert in 18th century German literature, particularly the works of Goethe, and intercultural theatre, on which he has published widely. This will be a riveting and enlightening presentation that will add a new level of appreciation for the performance.

Movie description: In the walled city of Thneed-Ville, where everything is artificial and even the air is a commodity, a boy named Ted hopes to win the heart of his dream girl, Audrey. When he learns of her wish to see a real tree, Ted seeks out the Once-ler, a ruined old businessman outside of town in a stark wasteland. Upon hearing of how the hermit gave into his greed for profits and devastated the land over the protests of the Lorax, Ted is inspired to undo the disaster. However, the greedy Mayor of Thneed-Ville, Aloysius O'Hare, has made his fortune exploiting the environmental collapse and is determined to stop the boy from undermining his business.

About The Mady Centre

The Mady Centre has a versatile and flexible stage area using a system of stage lights and sound reinforcement for professional theatre, music, dance and other presentation formats.  Flexible seating capacity of 120 to 200 patrons, a sprung performance floor, artist's green room/lounge and performers dressing rooms with showers.  The theatre is also available for non-theatrical activities including seminars, workshops, presentations and conferences.  The theatre seating can be fully retracted to accommodate the use of tables and chairs for receptions.

Location: Downtown Barrie – 1 Dunlop Street West – at the corner of Bayfield Street and Dunlop Street

Driving Directions: Exit Hwy 400 at Dunlop Street – drive east on Dunlop Street to Bayfield Street

Parking: Many parking options available; please view the map

Regular Box Office Hours:
Tuesday to Friday, 12pm–6pm; Saturday 11am–5pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
 

Box office at the venue of the show is open from one hour before the performance until the intermission for ticket purchase and pickup.
