City Divisions & Departments

Responding to the changing needs of a growing community, in 2013 the City of Barrie introduced new portfolios and reorganized the working structure of the organization in order to be positioned to best serve our community. The changes were supported through reallocations of existing positions and current vacancies and results in no new costs.

The corporation of the City of Barrie is comprised of the Chief Administrative Office (which includes Legal Services and Internal Audit), two Divisions — Community and Corporate Services, and Infrastructure and Growth Management — and three Strategic Portfolios that focus on Council’s key priorities.
