The City works to provide students with opportunities to gain work experience while contributing to the vibrancy of our community. Our Operations Department and Recreation Services Department regularly hire students to support service and program delivery.
Note: Other departments may also currently have student job opportunities open, so please check current opportunities.
Summer jobs are available in; General Parks Maintenance, Horticulture, Forestry, Traffic Services, Roads Maintenance and Administration.
The application deadline for these summer jobs is January 31 annually. Resumes will be accepted after that date, however they will not be reviewed unless staff are unable to fill positions with existing applications.

Note: There are limited vacant positions available for summer positions due to the number of returning staff from previous summers. You must be a full-time student returning to school full-time in September to qualify for a summer student position. Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age. All student positions within Operations, with the exception of Administration, require a valid G license in good standing.
Police Record Checks: Please note that effective September 1, 2019, any new employees to the City will be required to provide a Police Record Check as a condition of their offer of employment. Police Record Checks must be dated within six (6) months of the employment ooffer to be considered valid. Please refer to the City's Police Record Check Procedure.pdf for additional information.
