Where are you located? Answer
The City of Barrie Human Resources Department is located in City Hall, on the 2nd floor at 70 Collier Street, in Downtown Barrie.
What are your business hours?Answer
The Human Resources Department hours of operation are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on Saturday, Sunday and on statutory holidays.

 
Please note that all recruitment processes take place during our normal hours of operation. 
I’m looking for a job. Where do I find your listing of job opportunities?Answer
All current employment opportunities can be found on our website, under Current Opportunities. Recreation opportunities (part-time and student) can be found under Recreation Job Opportunities. Summer student opportunities​​ can be found under Student Opportunities.
How can I apply for a job that you have posted on your website?Answer
To be considered for an available employment opportunity found on the City's Current Opportunities webpage, applicants are required to submit their application by clicking the 'Apply Now' button, which can be located on the job posting.
Do I have to submit my resume electronically?Answer
Yes, we only accept electronic applications at this time. Physical applications that are mailed or dropped off will not be considered.
 
Please note that we do not accept unsolicited applications.
Will I be contacted once I submit my resume?Answer
We thank all applicants but only those selected to participate in the recruitment process will be contacted.

Do you accept resumes for Summer Student employment?Answer
The City of Barrie hires Summer Students each year, with most positions being available in our Operations Department or Recreation and Culture Department. Please visit the Student Opportunities webpage for specific instructions on how to apply for a summer student position. A small number of department-specific summer student opportunities​ may be posted on our Current Opportunities​ webpage.
