Barrie City Council invites applications from members of the public who desire to have their name considered for appointment to the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA)

The City of Barrie is seeking to appoint two (2) members of the public with local or board of directors' governance experience, for a term expiring on November14, 2022, unless otherwise provided by a resolution of City Council.

The Business Improvement Area (BIA) consists of commercial properties and their non-residential tenants within a defined boundary.  Working in partnership with the City of Barrie, the Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) focuses its efforts into maintaining a strong and vibrant community within downtown Barrie for property owners, business owners, residents, visitors, and tourists alike.

The Downtown Barrie Business Association (BIA) is organized into five components (Executives, Board Members, Partners, Staff and Organizational Framework), all of whom work and co-ordinate together to fulfill short-term goals and long-term strategies.  Apart from staff, these members are volunteers.

Applications containing details regarding qualifications and applicable experience for the above appointment must be submitted using the prescribed application form which may be directed to the undersigned at the Legislative and Court Services Department at City Hall, 70 Collier Street, PO Box 400, L4M 4T5.  Please return your completed application in person, by mail, by fax to 705-739-4206, or scan and send by email to cityclerks@barrie.ca, no later than 4:30 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.  Appointments are subject to City of Barrie Council approval on October 28, 2019.
