Board/Committee Vacancies

Barrie City Council invites applications from members of the public who desire to have their name considered for appointment to the following committees:

Accessibility Advisory Committee - This is a statutory committee, under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.  The Committee provides advice to Council about the requirements and implementation of accessibility standards and the preparation of accessibility reports and such other matters for which Council may seek its advice, reviews site plans and drawings described in section 41 of the Planning Act that the committee selects; and performs all other functions that are specified in the regulations.  The City of Barrie is seeking to appoint one (1) citizen for a term ending November 14, 2022.  Under the AODA, a majority of the members of the committee shall be persons with disabilities.

Active Transportation and Sustainability Advisory Committee - The mandate of this Committee is to promote the facilitation of active transportation initiatives, the protection, maintenance and awareness of the environment within the community, and to provide advice concerning environmental policy, planning and sustainability.  The City of Barrie is seeking to appoint one (1) citizen for a term ending November 14, 2022.

Applications containing details regarding qualifications and applicable experience for the above appointments must be submitted using the prescribed application form, which may be directed to the undersigned at the Legislative and Court Services Department at City Hall, 70 Collier Street, PO Box 400, L4M 4T5.  Please return your completed application in person, by mail, by fax to 705-739-4206, or scan and send by email to cityclerks@barrie.ca, no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, February 21, 2020.
