Mayor’s Office - "Committed to Service Excellence" I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie hereby proclaimDecember 1-31, 2021 asChristmas Cheer MonthWHEREAS; In the City of Barrie, since 1974, Barrie & District Christmas Cheer has brought Christmas to approximately 1,800 families; and WHEREAS; The year 2021 has been one of challenge, change and creative thinking for everyone; and WHEREAS; Christmas Cheer will be operating with 1/4 of their usual budget as safety dictates they can only request financial support; and WHEREAS; Everything seems different, the commitment to make Christmas meaningful for our local families is not. ‘Here for you in 2021.’ THEREFORE, I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie, do hereby proclaim December 2021 as “Christmas Cheer Month”, and I encourage all citizens to help support this worthwhile cause.
