THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF BARRIE
Mayor’s Office - "Committed to Service Excellence" I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie hereby proclaimMay 22-28, 2022 asVictorian Order of Nurses (VON) WeekWHEREAS; The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) for Canada is a charitable community-based health care organization addressing community health and social needs; and
WHEREAS; VON Simcoe County home support workers, community service coordinators and many other staff and volunteers have been caring for the lives and well-being of residents of Barrie since 1990; and
WHEREAS; VON’s nursing, health promotion and support services make a contribution to the health care system in Ontario, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
THEREFORE, I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie, do hereby proclaim May 22 to May 28, 2022 as “Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Week” and encourage residents to learn more about the VON and its charitable programs.
