I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor of the City of Barrie hereby proclaim
June 18, 2022 asRoyal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 53 Barrie Day
WHEREAS; RCSCC Barrie is culminating a successful training year with their Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) on June 18th, 2022. This day is focused on celebrating the hard work and dedication of the Cadets and Staff of RCSCC Barrie; and
WHEREAS; RCSCC Barrie, a free youth development program for youth ages 12-18, that teaches valuable skills that help with their transition to adulthood. They come out of the program as self-aware, self-sufficient leaders with an invested interest in their communities and the skills to actively contribute to society in meaningful ways. Throughout their training, Sea Cadets learn about teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication, and participate in activities to improve their communities, all through the lens of a maritime focus; and
WHEREAS; RCSCC Barrie is a civilian youth program delivered through a partnership between the Department of National Defence and the Navy League of Canada, Barrie Branch. RCSCC Barrie has been serving the Barrie Community since 1943.
THEREFORE, I, Jeff Lehman, Mayor, do hereby proclaim June 18, 2022 as “Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 53 Barrie Day” in the City of Barrie.
