(Barrie, ON) The City of Barrie is taking action to ensure that beaches and parks stay safe.
In addition to increased patrols by Municipal Law Enforcement Officers and additional signage to communicate beach rules, non-resident waterfront parking rates will increase to $10 per hour (daily maximum of $50), starting tomorrow (July 8). Dock Road Park and The Gables parking lots, as well as the surrounding streets at Wilkins Park will remain as resident-only parking areas.
The City is also putting the following measures in place at Wilkins Park and Tyndale Beach, effective immediately:
In addition, Barrie has Parks Ambassadors, who travel along the City's waterfront to promote the community, provide directions and answer general questions, as well as offer education and awareness related to City by-laws.
