PRESS RELEASEPlastics Manufacturer Relocating To Barrie
Friday, April 29, 2011

The City of Barrie is pleased to announce that R&M Plastic Products Ltd. will be making Barrie their home starting this summer.  Providing custom profile extrusion and injection moulding servicing to various industries including the telecom and utilities markets since 1966, the Brampton-based firm will be relocating its operations to 282 King Street in the Mapleview Industrial Park.
The City of Barrie Strategy and Economic Development Office was first engaged with R&M Plastic Products Ltd. in late October of last year as the company began its site selection process. “After considering a number of different communities we decided that Barrie provided the best business location with access to key transportation routes and quality of life for our family and employees”, stated Bob Ritchie President, and second-generation owner of R&M Plastic Products Ltd.  “We’re very excited for our move to Barrie and look forward to working with the City and becoming active members of Barrie’s business community.”
The City also looks forward to welcoming some of R&M’s current employees as new Barrie residents.  Mayor Jeff Lehman had the pleasure of meeting with the company as they are working to finalize details of their relocation.  “On behalf of the City of Barrie, I am delighted to welcome R&M Plastic Products to Barrie.
This exciting company is bringing new industrial jobs to our city and are an industry leader in the use of green technologies in their production processes.  I am very pleased that they have chosen Barrie and we look forward to assisting them in setting up shop and growing their business,“ said Mayor Lehman.
As the company prepares for its relocation they will also be looking to add to their staff compliment, but are currently focused on preparing for and transitioning to their new facility.
All inquiries are to be directed to the Strategy and Economic Development Office.
