Mariposa School of Skating presents a demonstration of their Beginner to International competitors. Bring your skates and join them on the rink after the show for a Learn to Skate session led by Mariposa’s Professional Coaches and Program Assistants. Mariposa runs Skate Canada’s Canskate program, which is the only nationally recognized learn to skate program in Canada and it teaches the fundamentals of skating. Mariposa’s coaching staff are among the best in the world and have produced Provincial, National, World, and Olympic Champions in figure skating as well as professional hockey players. Come learn to skate with the best!

Bring the whole family, warm-up with a hot chocolate, and check out the exhibits in Barrie's only downtown museum. Listen to Sgt. Murray, dressed in full 1880s period uniform, as he relates the history of Barrie's own Militiamen and provides insight into Barrie's military heritage.

Wild Africa Escape Room (TBA)
Each puzzle will take you to a country or region of Africa - the plains of the Serengeti, the jungles of Madagascar or the heat of the desert! This family-focused puzzle is challenging enough for adults but still fun for kids of all ages. Take 20 minutes to work together with your family and friends or have fun with the group and plan your escape together!
Space is limited, drop-in event, first come first served. Escape rooms are 20 minutes in duration with 10 participants per session. Sign-up sheet at the door.

Park at the Bayfield Mall, easily accessed off of Highway 400, and take a warm and comfortable FREE ride to Barrie Winterfest! The shuttle will pick-up and drop-off at Coulter Street behind the Bayfield Mall at Barrie Transit stop #203 and the Downtown Transit Terminal along Maple Avenue where you can cross the street to Heritage Park and enjoy all of the festivities.
If you're driving to the event, there's plenty of
waterfront parking available within close walking distance, including the Collier Street Parkade. It is a fully accessible, 7-level parking facility with over 300 parking spots located on Collier Street between Owen and Clapperton Streets, just a short walk from Heritage Park & Meridian Place.
When making your way around downtown, Simcoe Street will be closed from Maple Avenue to Dunlop Street from 6:00am February 1 to 6:00pm February 2.
