April 2022
Construction of the new trunk sanitary sewer is now
complete. Minor sewer connections, backfilling and overall site restoration
remains and is expected to be completed in June.

November 2021
On site construction is progressing well. Dewatering activities have allowed the Contractor to commence construction at the west project limits and they will continue to work easterly until project completion. Traffic will remain unimpeded for much of the construction, with minor impacts related to temporary lane closures controlled by traffic control persons. Construction of the sanitary sewer is expected to continue into the winter months and be completed in spring 2022. October 26, 2021

September 28, 2021 Drainstar Contracting Ltd. has been hired by the Hewitt’s Gate Landowner’s Group to complete the sanitary sewer construction which is currently underway. Sanitary sewer is being installed along Mapleview Dr E by Collector Rd 11 while dewatering activities take place along Mapleview Dr E, east of Prince William Way. August 26, 2021

The City's Infrastructure Department in conjunction with the Hewitt's Creek Land Owner's Group has completed the public tendering process to hire a contractor to complete the sanitary sewer construction from Prince William Way to Collector Rd 11. The City expects the awarded contractor to begin construction in August 2021, completing the sanitary sewer by the end of the year. |
Project Features
The expansion works will include:
- Urbanization of the roadway including concrete median, curb and gutter, and improved storm water management infrastructure
- Sanitary sewer to service new developments
- Multi-use trail on the north side and sidewalk on the south
- Roadway illumination

The project is split into three phases.

Traffic Impacts
To facilitate construction occasional lane closures will be in place. Residents and motorists can expect delays in traffic movement periodically throughout the construction season. Any traffic restrictions will be controlled by trained traffic control persons.
Affected Services
Water, Sanitary, Hydro, Telephone, Cable TV, and Gas services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Access for emergency service vehicles will always be maintained.
