McDonald Street Municipal Parking Lot Reconstruction
The reconstruction of McDonald Street parking lot between Mulcaster Street and Poyntz Street includes pavement rehabilitation, storm infrastructure improvements, lighting and concrete curb repairs.
Project Updates
November 24, 2020
The project was delayed due to unforeseen underground conditions and weather. All underground works are completed. Surface works in stage 1 are generally complete. Concrete work and base asphalt for stage 2 is scheduled for this week. The project is anticipated to finish up for the year by December 4. Streetlight installation, top asphalt, and restoration will be completed in the spring.

October 29, 2020
The storm sewer work in phase one is complete. The curb, sidewalk and asphalt in phase one is anticipated to be complete by November 6, 2020 (weather permitting). Phase two work is anticipated to commence the week of November 9, 2020. The project is on track to be completed by November 20, 2020.
September 14, 2020 The project is anticipated to begin the week of September 21, 2020. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of November 2020, weather-permitting.

Parking Alternatives
The parking lot along Mulcaster Street will be closed to public for the duration of the project. Street parking along Mulcaster Street and Collier Street, as well as various City parking lots in the area, will remain available. Please refer to the

Courthouse Remains Accessible
Though parking will be limited, pedestrian access to the Barrie Courthouse/Simcoe County Courthouse will be maintained.
Affected Services
Water, sanitary, Hydro, Telephone, Cable TV, and gas services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
