Road Construction Project

2019 Pavement
Preservaton Program

The Early Life Pavement Preservation Pilot Program Project construction budget has a budget of $240,000 and an expected completion date in the Summer/Fall of 2019.

Typical work completed under this program include Reclamite and Micro-Surfacing techniques. These techniques are used early on in a pavement’s lifecycle to maintain the pavement in a very good condition. This is completed in different ways depending on the technique, but ultimately the small cracks that have formed in the asphalt are sealed, which prevents water from infiltrating into the asphalt and causing more extensive cracks through the freeze/thaw cycle that Canadian roads experience on an annual basis.
