Transportation Improvements

Little Avenue to North of Big Bay Point Road

The City of Barrie Multi-Modal Active Transportation Master Plan (MMATMP) identified Bayview Drive as key transportation corridor and recommended several transportation improvements to accommodate growth in Barrie to 2031.

Project Updates

The City has engaged the existing utility owners along the Bayview Dr. corridor in order to coordinate utility relocations to avoid future conflicts with the proposed roads. Design for these relocations is expected to be completed this year, with physical relocations occurring in 2023. Property acquisition is ongoing for the small sections of property identified in the Environmental Assessment completed for this work. Construction is still on schedule to start in 2024.
