The City of Barrie has partnered with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) to design and reconstruct the upper portion of Kidd’s Creek from the Lillian Crescent storm sewer outlet to Cundles Road.
The purpose of this work is to restore the health of the creek by taking a proactive ecological approach. The result will have a positive effect on the restoration of Lake Simcoe’s tributaries. The work includes the following:
Design; the detail design is nearly complete.
Construction; tree removals are planned for in early in 2019, utility relocations in the spring, then construction in the summer of 2019 pending Capital Budget approval.
Public Information Centre (PIC) was held December 6, 2018 to present the proposed improvements and seek community feedback. This was an informal drop-in session where participants were able to review information presented, ask questions of City staff and the design team, and provide feedback to help guide the finalization of the design.
