The Municipal Naming Policy establishes the processes and criteria for naming, renaming or dedicating municipal assets, including sports fields, and major elements of such assets.
Within numerous neighbourhood and community parks settings, the City offers a range of outdoor playing fields to satisfy all your sports and activity needs.

Tennis court reservations are accepted from May 1st through to the Friday before Halloween.
Sports fields reservations (including diamonds and pitches) are accepted from May 1st through to the Friday before Thanksgiving. Staff access the fields before the snow flies to complete the fall turf maintenance program in preparation for spring. During this time,the Cityasks residents and visitors to avoid using the fields, as maintenance equipment and material may be on the surface.
The Barrie Community Sports Complex opened in 2000 and is located at 2100 Nursery Road,Midhurst. The 118-acre complex features ball diamonds, turf fields, and three amenity buildings, including Coates Stadium, home of the Barrie Baycats.

Yes, but dogs must be leashed at all times, and are not allowed on playing surfaces. Property to the north (MNR Forest) does not belong to the City of Barrie.

During peak season (May – August), the Complex runs 7 days a week from 6:30am – 11:30pm. NOTE: Entrance gates are closed based on bookings as some days can end earlier than 11:30pm
