Quality Supervision

Our staff to participant ratios reflect our commitment to quality program supervision. Our camps operate with a ratio of 1 leader for every 10 campers. All staff are certified in First Aid, CPR C and require a criminal reference check. In addition they are trained to interact with children in a positive and developmentally appropriate manner as all camp staff are certified in the HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development.

Fair Play in Camps... Fun for Everyone

The goal of the City of Barrie Day Camps is to ensure all campers have a rewarding, memorable, safe and fun experience while participating in our program. Providing a safe environment is a collaborative process. We ask that parents/guardians share the following camp rules/guidelines with their child/ren:

  • Use appropriate language

If the above guidelines cannot be met, our Fair Play Follow Up process will be implemented. Parent conferences may be required to address concerns at any step in this system. Physical aggression towards another person or oneself may require a temporary or full suspension from camp(s).
