The asphalt surface of the noted streets has deteriorated with patches, multiple cracks and some rutting. The primary purpose of the asphalt road resurfacing works is to repair and improve the ride quality of the various roads and prevent the roads from deteriorating to the point that they would require more extensive and costly rehabilitation and/or reconstruction.

Many of the existing maintenance holes and catch basins need structural repairs and adjustments to ensure proper surface water drainage and a safe and smooth driving surface around these structures.

The removal and replacement of some of the concrete curbs and sidewalks will be undertaken to resolve deterioration or unsafe conditions. When curb or sidewalk is removed and replaced in front of existing driveways, a small strip of driveway will be sawcut, removed and restored with new asphalt.
