Watermain Replacements: Baldwin Lane & Grove Street
Watermain replacement on Baldwin Lane from Marshall to Bayview and Grove Street from Davies to Cook. Sanitary sewer replacement on Baldwin Lane.
The work is being completed in order to replace aging infrastructure. The existing watermain in the project area has broken on several occasions in the recent past and replacing the watermain will ensure consistency in water supply.
October 2, 2017
All works are completed. Both Baldwin Lane and Grove Street are now open to traffic.
September 18, 2017
Grove Street work is completed. Baldwin Lane watermain and sanitary sewer work is completed. Base asphalt has been placed. Top course asphalt will be placed next spring. Restoration work including driveways, boulevards, line painting, topsoil and sod is going and should be completed by the end of this week, weather dependent.

Grove Street work is completed. Baldwin Lane will be paved by September 8, weather dependent. Restoration work will be completed by the end of September.

Watermain on both Baldwin Lane and Grove Street have been commissioned. Road works and restoration are on-going on both Baldwin Lane and Grove Street. Road restoration on Grove should be completed by the end of the August. Road reconstruction on Baldwin Lane should be completed by mid-September.

Baldwin Lane: Watermain and sanitary sewer installation is almost completed on Baldwin Lane. Watermain testing will begin shortly, pending successful test results, residential water services will be transferred to the new watermain. Baldwin Lane will remain closed until the road is reconstructed.
Grove Street: Watermain installation will begin on Grove Street, Wednesday, July 12. Grove Street will be closed for this work.

Traffic Impacts: Due to the location of the existing and proposed infrastructure and the excavations required to undertake the work the roadway will have to be closed to through traffic, and a detour route will be provided.

Utilities: Sanitary sewer, hydro, telephone, Cable TV, and Gas services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Water service will be interrupted for a short time to switch your service over to the new watermain. Notice of the timing of any water interruptions will be provided to you in advance of such occurrences.
Garbage Collection: On the normal curbside collection day, place all garbage, organics, recyclables and yard waste materials at the front of your property as usual. The construction contractor will remove these items and take them to outside of the construction zone, for pickup by the City’s waste pickup contractor. Your garbage cans, organics bin and recycling boxes will be returned to your property later that day. Please mark your address on all of your containers. It is very important that you take your refuse and recyclable items to the front of your property by 7:00 a.m.; otherwise these items might not be picked up.
Access to Properties
All reasonable efforts will be made to maintain vehicle access to driveways. However, there may be some temporary interruptions to access during construction. Access will be restored as quickly as possible.
The contractor is required to conduct his work in a safe manner, including fencing of deep excavations, etc. We ask that you take extra caution during the construction period to ensure everyone’s safety
