Join the Barrie Legion for the unveiling of new flag banners honoring Simcoe County WWII Veterans who fought for the freedom we cherish today. Each flag will feature the names and photos of these brave soldiers, preserving their legacy for future generations.
In 2025, we honour the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War with May 8th marking Victory in Europe Day (VE Day). More than 1,000,000 Canadians and Newfoundlanders served in the Second World War, with more than 40,000 paying the ultimate sacrifice. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 147 (Barrie) is commemorating the occasion with a series of events to honour and recognize our brave soldiers.
