Join us in Meridian Place to celebrate National Indigenous History Month and People’s Day. Event is weather-permitting.

The Indigenous artists performance and community fire start at 7pm. Join reginal Indigenous musicians including Painted Sky, John Copegog, Don Couchie, Jeff Monague, and Jimbob Marsden to connect through music and storytelling through song. 

Then set up your lawn chair and watch an indigenous film feature, Aitamaako'tamisskapi Natosi: Before the Sun. The movie starts at dusk (approximately 9:30pm). 

This event is planned in collaboration with the Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Primary Care Team from the Barrie Area Native Advisory CircleBarrie Native Friendship Centre, the Barrie Public Library, Downtown Barrie's Lawn Chair Luminata and the Barrie Film Festival.
