This Neighbourhood Meeting is your first opportunity to hear about a proposed development from the applicant, understand the City’s planning approval process and timelines and give you the chance to ask questions. M. Behar Planning and Design, on behalf of 1001014757 Ontario Inc., is seeking input from the public on proposed Official Plan Amendment and Amendment to the Zoning By-law for lands known municipally as 73, 75 and 79 Toronto Street in the City of Barrie.
The proposal is intended to facilitate a future 30 storey mixed use development that contains 322 residential apartment units, 581.4 square metres of ground floor retail space, 1,822.9 square metres of combined indoor and outdoor amenity space, and a parking podium consisting of 236 parking spaces. This neighbourhood meeting will be held in a virtual forum with electronic participation via ZOOM. To participate in the virtual neighbourhood meeting, you will need access to a computer with internet service or a telephone.
A presentation from the applicant of the development concept;
City review process and timing;
An opportunity to meet the applicant, City staff and Ward Councillor;
A time for asking questions, providing thoughts, comments, and concerns regarding the proposed development.
What Not To Expect
City staff recommendations on the application or a detailed analysis on the proposal (this will occur later in the review process);
A debate on the merits of the proposal between City staff and the applicant.
