What makes a successful grant application? In this three-hour virtual workshop, acclaimed grant writer Lindsay Zier-Vogel will take artists, arts organizations, and non-profit fundraisers through the grant writing process—from prepping materials, to writing budgets, to crafting compelling project descriptions, to decoding what the funders are asking for, and more.

About the Facilitator

Lindsay Zier-Vogel is an accomplished author, grant writer, and educator, with over 20 years of experience writing grants for charities, non-profits and artists.

Lindsay writes project, capital, and operation grants for individuals and small to medium-sized non-profits, generating well-written, well-researched grant proposals, for every level of government, agencies, foundations and corporations. She has worked with for- and not-for profit organizations, small businesses, classical music organizations, musicians, dance artists and companies, writers, arts educators and arts ed organizations, actors, directors and theatre companies, visual artists, and community-based artists and organizations.

Beyond grant writing, Lindsay works as a writer and educator. Lindsay Zier-Vogel is a Toronto-based author, educator, and the founder of the internationally acclaimed Love Lettering Project. Following the publication of her critically acclaimed debut novel Letters to Amelia (2021), she published a place-based picture book, Dear Street (Kids Can Press, 2023), that has been chosen as a Junior Library Guild pick. Her writing has been published widely in Canada and the UK, and she leads creative writing workshops in schools and community settings.
