Registration Details

Swimming & Aquatics

The City offers lessons based on the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life curriculum. Our comprehensive lessons, available from Preschool to Advanced levels, are accessible, flexible, success-oriented and fun! Group, adult, private and semi-private lessons are available. Fitness & Sport

Keep fit with the City of Barrie! Stretch it out in yoga class, sweat it out during Pilates or step it out in Zumba! Whatever your preference for keeping active, we’ve got a class for you! The City offers both drop-in fitness classes and sports programs, registered fitness classes, and registered sports programs like basketball, soccer, and volleyball.

Dance

Our dance programs provide the opportunity for young dancers to learn choreography and develop their skills. Classes include ballet, hip hop, jazz, and more!

Camps

Day camps offer a fun and safe environment for kids from ages 4–12 to experience a variety of activities with a focus on fun, making friends, arts and crafts, sports, and camp games. Some summer camps are offered for youth over age 12 and inclusion camps are offered to campers up to 18+.

General Interest

Recreation isn’t just about exercise or fitness, and the City has plenty of activity-based programming to suit your interests and needs! Some of our general interest programming this include Spanish language lessons and culinary arts.

Sports Leagues

The City offers a variety of sport leagues for adults. All participants must be 18+ years of age. Choose which league you would like to participate in and search and register for leagues at play.barrie.ca. Certifications & Training

The City offers various certifications and training courses throughout the year. 

Did you know?  Seniors 55+ programming, including recreation, education, fitness opportunities, events and workshops, is hosted at the City's 55+ centres!
