Will Dwyer Park Community Ice Rink

Address
95 Lakeshore Drive
Type
Artificial Outdoor Ice Rink
Status
Closed

The Will Dwyer Park rink closed for the season on March 14, 2025. Due to the mild temperatures, the mechanical equipment could no longer maintain a suitable and safe ice surface.

Maintained by City staff. Designated for shinny hockey only. This rink doubles as a twin baskeball court in the warmer months. The site offers waterfront parking, and heated washrooms are located in the Will Dwyer Park building.

This rink initially alternated permitted activity every two hours between skating and hockey. This prompted feedback from hockey players as there was a 75/25 skating/hockey ratio across the City's two artificial outdoor ice rinks, with the nearby Circle at the Centre ice rink reserved for pleasure skating only. As of 2020, this rink allows only shinny hockey to provide a 50/50 split amongst the rinks; skaters have the Circle at the Centre rink to themselves, and hockey players have the Will Dwyer Park rink to themselves.
