The Integrity Commissioner ensures all members Council, board, and committee members follow the City’s Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct, which includes obligations under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and handles matters when a section of the Code is violated.
Members of the public, members of Committees or Local Boards, Barrie City Council and City employees can file a complaint with the Integrity Commissioner if a Council, committee or local board member appears to have violated a section of the Code.
Code of Conduct
City Council and committee members must annually acknowledge receipt and understanding of the Council and Committee Member Code of Conduct.
Conflicts of Interest
Members of Council, boards, and committees must avoid conflicts of interest, and shall conduct themselves in accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.
