Affected services during the Labour Day holiday in Barrie

(Barrie, ON) A number of services are affected in the City of Barrie on statutory holidays. The following City services will be affected on Labour Day (Monday, September 7, 2020):

Barrie Transit

Barrie Transit is running on a Sunday hourly service schedule on September 7.  

Curbside Collection

There will be nogarbage, organics, recycling and yard waste collection on Monday, September 7 in Barrie. Collection during the week of this holiday will occur one day later for the remainder of the week. Materials must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. The landfill is closed every Sunday and Monday.

During Environment Canada-declared severe heat and humidity warnings, the City's waste contractor will start curbside collection at 5:30 a.m. Notification of early collection start time will be posted atbarrie.ca/CurbsideCollection,Facebook andTwitter, sent bye-bulletin (based on recipient profile), and sent toPingstreet app users by 5pm the day prior to each impacted collection day. Please put your waste curbside after 7 p.m. the night before during heat warnings.

City Hall

Barrie City Hall will be closed on September 7. 

Recreation/Community Centres

Allandale Recreation Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre and Holly Community Centre will be closed on September 7. For more information about how to book time at the Centres to swim, workout or take part in a fitness class (starting September 8), visitbarrie.ca/RecUpdates.
