Applications open for Arts & Culture Investment Program

(Barrie, ON) The City of Barrie is accepting applications for its Arts & Culture Investment Program, formerly the Cultural Grants Program. The goal of the program is to strengthen Barrie's arts and culture sector through strategic investments in the work of artists and creative organizations.

The following arts and culture organizations are encouraged to apply:Performing arts organizations & artists (includes theatre, dance, and music)Visual arts organizations & artistsArts service organizationsLiterary arts organizations & literary artistsNew media organizations & new media artistsHeritage organizations

Funding categories include:

Operational Streams:Organizations with budgets of $75,000 or moreOrganizations with budgets of less than $75,000

Projects & Capacity building Streams:ProjectsCapacity Building

Earlier this year, the City completed a Cultural Grant Review, including consultations with local arts and culture organizations. The resulting improvements reflect the recommendations from the Cultural Grant Review to modernize the program, bring it in-line with municipal best practice, and provide a stronger framework for funding guidelines, improved adjudication process, and overall user experience.
