Apply now for City’s Business in the Parks Program

(Barrie, ON) – Barrie businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the City's Business in the Parks Program, which has been extended until December 31, 2022. The program provides businesses the opportunity to reserve space for a set time in designated public parks for activities such as classes, workshops, and meetings. Booking fees are $75 + HST for a half day or up to 6 hours of booking time and $100 + HST for a full day or up to 12 hours of booking time.

Eligibility CriteriaYour activity must operate in a closed format (participants have to pre-register to participate, for example, private dance classes, yoga classes, art workshop, meeting, etc.);Your business must provide a COVID-19 safety plan that meets the guidelines of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. This is necessary to have in place before final permit approval;Your business must provide proof of insurance for your commercial operation from an insurer licensed to do business in Ontario. The Corporation of the City of Barrie must be named as an additional insured;Your activity cannot include the serving or preparing of alcohol or cannabis products. Food and beverage cannot be served to the public but can be included in your activity.

Interested applicants who meet the above criteria are invited to apply online to book a park. Eligible applicants must submit their application a minimum of 15 business days prior to their requested date for consideration.

The Business in the Parks Program was established in 2020 based on consultations with the business community as part of the City'sEconomic Recovery Action Plan.
