City hosts information session on new transit hub in Allandale neighbourhood and Downtown Mini Hub

(Barrie, ON) The City is inviting residents and surrounding neighbours in the Allandale and downtown areas to attend a virtual public information session on Wednesday, June 23 at 6 p.m. to learn more about the Allandale Transit Mobility Hub and Downtown Mini Hub project.

Anticipated to be completed in late 2022, the project consists of building an inter-regional transit hub in the Allandale area, as well as a mini transit hub downtown to host transit services and connections through a more integrated public transit system.

“Building this mobility hub in the Allandale area will support increased transit access to the Allandale GO station, providing seamless connections for riders and integrated transit access," notes Brent Forsyth, Director of Transit and Parking Strategy.

At the information session, attendees will meet the project team, learn about results from an earlier public consultation that have informed the design and program choices to date, and learn about previously developed conceptual plans for the project.

The Allandale Transit Mobility Hub and Downtown Mini Hub project is supported and funded by the Government of Canada, Government of Ontario, and the City of Barrie.

Individuals can register in advance to attend the information session
