The City of Barrie's International Relations Committee has a new website. The Committee made a presentation at City Council last night to unveil the new site that is dedicated to Barrie's international relationships.
“What we have done is we have created a new website to represent our city and our international partners Zweibrücken, Germany, Murayama, Japan, Harrogate, United Kingdom and Arras, France," said International Relations Committee Chair Dave Morrison. “It also profiles our youth interchanges and exchanges programs; Youth Ambassadors and Global Perspectives."
In accordance with the City of Barrie's Procedural By-law, the International Relations Committee is
an advisory Committee authorized by City Council. The mandate of the International Relations Committee is to co-ordinate and enhance the City of Barrie's relationships with international communities for the benefit of the social, economic, educational and cultural development of our citizens and our community. The specific objectives of the mandate are achieved through the work of the individual sub-committees.
